Aqqu
About us

Built in Greenland, for Greenland

Aqqu means the way — aqqut, the route home. We're building the one app that gets you there, in every town in the country.

Values

  • Warmth in the cold

The whole point is to get you out of the dark and into a warm car, fast. Every choice we make serves that.

  • Fair to drivers

Drivers keep their full fare. A platform only works when the people doing the driving are treated right.

  • The whole country

Not one city — all of them. National from the start is the thing no local company can offer.

The story

Getting a ride in Greenland too often means a busy phone line, a long wait in the cold, and never quite knowing when — or if — a car is coming. Every town has its own company, its own number, its own way of doing things. Nothing connects them.

Aqqu changes that. One app for every ride, in every city — so a rider in Nuuk and a rider in Ilulissat get the same simple thing: open the app, see the nearest free car, and get picked up. The route your car drives is drawn as an aurora line on the map: the warm, reliable thing coming for you in the dark.

We're local. We know the winters, the distances, and the connections that drop. So we built Aqqu to be fast on a weak signal, fair to drivers, and proud of where it comes from — kalaallisut first, with Danish and English right beside it.

Goals

What we're working toward

Concrete things we hold ourselves to — not promises, but direction.

1

The whole country connected

Every town in Aqqu — from Nanortalik in the south to Qaanaaq in the north — so a ride works the same wherever you stand.

2

A car that always comes

Short waits and an ETA you can trust. No busy line, no wondering when you'll be picked up.

3

Drivers who can make a living

Fair pay and full fares, so driving is worth it — well beyond the biggest cities too.

Aspirations

Where we're headed

We want Aqqu to become the obvious way to get around Greenland — for the neighbour heading to the winter market, the visitor leaving the airport, the family out on a Saturday night.

Over time we'll use the aurora line for more than rides: parcels, fixed routes between towns, and a driver community that builds small local businesses.

Live across Greenland

Ready when you are

Sign up as a rider, or become a driver. Aqqu is live across Greenland — come along.
